빈센트 반 고흐의 삶(Vincent Van Gogh's Life)

빈센트 반 고흐는 1853년 3월 30일 네덜란드의 남부 작은 마을 준데르크에서 태어났습니다. 고흐는 목사의 맏아들로 태어났습니다. 고흐는 16살 때 구필화랑 헤이그 지점에 수습사원으로 들어갔습니다. 1874년 한 여인에게 실연을 당한 고흐는 성직자가 되려는 뜻을 품고 성경을 공부하였습니다. 1878년 고흐는 벨기에 브뤼셀에서 목사연수를 받았으나 목사가 되지는 못했습니다. 고흐는 탄광지역으로 선교사업을 떠나 모든 재산을 가난한 사람들에게 나누어 주기도 하였습니다. 그 후 고흐는 선교활동을 그만두게 되었습니다. 1879년 빈털털이가 된 고흐는 절망에 빠져 그림을 그리기 시작했고 1880년 고흐는 예술을 통해 인류에게 위안을 주어야 겠다고 생각했습니다. 고흐는 1880년 브뤼셀 아카데미에서 데생을 공부하고 네덜란드 풍경화가 안톤 모베을 비롯한 여러 화가에게 그림을 배웠습니다. 그는 1884년과 1885년을 작은 마을에서 살면서 <감자 먹는 사람들>, <베 짜는 사람들> 등의 그림을 그렸습니다. 고흐는 1886년 느닷없이 파리로 가서 1888년 2월까지 고갱 등의 화가를 만났고 자신만의 붓놀림과 화풍을 만들며 여러 걸작을 탄생시켰습니다. 그리고 도시의 실증을 느낀 고흐는 파리를 떠나 아를로 갔습니다. 고흐는 <해바라기 시리즈>, <자화상> 그리고 주변 사람들의 초상화를 그렸습니다. 아를에서 지내던 고흐는 신경과민으로 자신의 귀를 자르기도 했고 스스로 오베르에 있는 정신병원에 입원하기도 하였습니다. 1890년 7월 29일, 오베르 쉬즈 오하즈에서 고독을 견디다 못한 고흐가 자살했습니다. 고흐가 10년 동안 그린 그림은 무려 879점 이었습니다. 그가 사는 동안 팔린 작품은 하나 뿐이었지만 지금 고흐의 그림들은 최고의 작품으로 평가받고 있습니다. 고흐가 죽은 뒤 1892년 고흐의 개인전이 열렸습니다. 고흐의 삶이 궁금하다면 윌리엄 서머셋의 '달과 6펜스'를 읽어 보길 바랍니다.

 

Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853 in the small town of Junderek in the southern Netherlands. Gogh was born as the first son of a pastor. When Gogh was 16 years old, he joined a trainee at the Heig branch of Gupilhwarang. In 1874, Gogh, who was broken up by a woman, studied the Bible with the intention of becoming a priest. In 1878, Gogh was trained as a pastor in Brussels, Belgium, but he did not become a pastor. Gogh left for the coal mine area and handed out all his property to the poor. After that, Gogh quit his missionary work. In 1879, Gogh became penniless and began painting in despair, and in 1880, he decided to give comfort to mankind through art. Gogh studied drawing at the Brussels Academy in 1880 and learned painting from Dutch landscape painter Anton Mobe. He lived in a small village in 1884 and 1885, drawing pictures such as "Potato Eaters" and "The Sewingers." Gogh went to Paris unexpectedly in 1886, and met artists such as Gauguin until February 1888, and created his own brush strokes and painting styles, creating many masterpieces. And feeling the city's demonstration, Gogh left Paris for Arles. Gogh painted sunflower series, self-portraits, and portraits of people around him. Gogh, who was living in Arles, cut off his ears for nervousness and was admitted to a mental hospital in Ober. On July 29, 1890, Gogh committed suicide in O'Haz, Ober Shizu, who could not endure solitude. Gogh painted 879 paintings in 10 years.
